Les VMA Awards 2022 de MTV se tiendront au Prudential Center du New Jersey à Newark le 28 août avec les stars arrivant sur le tapis rouge à partir de 18h30 HE.

Doja Cat, Harry Styles et Jack Harlow sont en tête des nominations avec huit nominations chacun. Ils sont suivis de près par Kendrick Lamar et Lil Nas X avec sept hochements de tête chacun.

Billie Eilish, lauréate d’un Grammy, a cinq nominations à son nom, dont celle de la meilleure vidéo longue durée. Drake, BTS, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran et Taylor Swift rejoignent Eilish avec cinq nominations.

Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J et Harlow co-animeront la cérémonie en rupture avec la tradition. La cérémonie est généralement organisée par une seule personne, donc les choses seront un peu différentes cette année.

Les MTV VMA ont accueilli certains des moments les plus emblématiques de la culture pop (bons et mauvais), notamment la robe en viande de Lady Gaga, le baiser de Madonna et Britney Spears et le moment où Kanye West a interrompu Taylor Swift sur scène.

Qui sont les Prix ​​MTV VMA Nominés ?

L’animatrice Nikki Minaj recevra le prix VMA Video Vanguard 2022, en reconnaissance de ses « contributions exceptionnelles et de son impact profond sur un clip vidéo et la culture populaire ». Les précédentes lauréates du prix sont Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez et Missy Elliott.

Les Red Hot Chili Peppers remporteront l’autre grand prix de la soirée, le Global Icon Award qui récompense un artiste ou un groupe dont « la carrière sans précédent, l’impact continu et l’influence ont maintenu un niveau unique de succès mondial dans la musique et au-delà, laissant une marque indélébile dans le paysage musical. »
